Welcome
Welcome to the Venezuela Now, Inc. Blog. VZ NOW is a US non-profit organization formed to support the work of the United Methodist Church of Venezuela. Its' purpose is to reach the lost of Venezuela. The principals of VZ NOW and their associates have worked in Venezuela since 1996.
One primary ministry is the Wesley Seminary of Venezuela in Barquisimeto. Now (2006) in its fourth year, Wesley Seminary provides a quality undergraduate theological education for about 60 students. Currently, the seminary operates under the umbrella of the Methodist Seminary of Costa Rica.
Other ministries include planting churches, building church buildings, starting orphanages, evangelistic efforts, short-term mission teams, etc. Any church or organization interested in working with the United Methodist Church in Venezuela is invited to contact Venezuela Now, Inc. through this Blog.
In August of 2005 the Bishop and Cabinet of the North Georgia Conference made their first ever international mission trip to Venezuela, sponsored by VZ NOW. Currently a number of churches in the North Georgia Conference are becoming involved in the work in Venezuela.
Our first United Methodist Missionaries moved to Venezuela in August, 2005. These dedicated servants serve in Venezuela through a partnership between VZ NOW and The Mission Society. Our second missionary family will move into Venezuela in 2006 through a partnership between VZ NOW, The Mission Society and OMS. The Evangelical Methodist Church of Costa Rica is in the process of sending its first international missionary. This will be accomplished with a partnership of the Costa Rican Church and VZ NOW. We are praying for more laborers in the ripe harvest field.
